For the past few months I have been in charge of a project for Bournemouth University about BU Staff. The project was requested by Staff Development Manager Colleen Harding and as a result I am making a series of short interviews for the website with a wide range of Bournemouth University's staff to show what working at BU is like for prospective employees. After doing all the preproduction of putting together the schedule, risk assessment, booking locations and kit I was ready to film so for the past couple of weeks I have been filming two camera set up interviews with the help of final year Global Media student Alex Naqvi and Bryony Reed around various campus locations. Once again we had a great view of Bournemouth from the Executive Business centre which I couldn't help add to the production photos. I am now nearing the end of editing process and the interviews are looking really good. More to follow once the project is complete!

For the past couple of days I have been working at Goldsmith's University for Talent TV South with Fran Mattinson who I met on the set of Monster Truck Mayhem. We have been filming the workshops and interviews to create summary videos and to promote creative skillset. We broke into three crews to film the workshops and I assisted Camera Operator Don from Sweet Pictures with Lucy Purnell as director. The workshops were very interesting from my point of view as Bournemouth University are involved in creative skillset and it is something I was aware of while at University and was seeing it from a different perspective. We also got to see an interesting talk by David Abraham CEO of Channel Four. Not only was the content interesting we had a great crew Valentines day meal!...
Today I was on shot with Don from Sweet Pictures, Simon Green from Greenrock and Ben Taggart filming interviews at RBS to regain customer trust on the dramatic day of their Libor fine. It was very interesting to be at the heart of what was happening. I assisted the production and filmed second camera with the F800 with Don on the 5D and slider and the view made for some lovely shots from the RBS building.
Today I filmed for Yatching TV at the opening of the Tullet Prebon London Boat Show. Again, like every year, it was an exciting launch. I joined Steve from Go Media and Katherine from Marine Advertising Agency to film around the show. We had some very interesting interviews and I had the pleasure of filming with the C300 again. See below Yachting Tv's channel with the interviews. I have just got back from a few fantastic days in Ireland with Equine Productions. The first day was spent flying to Dublin and off to GOFFs horse sales to film Tom Dascombe at the sales. The location was beautiful and the horses were incredible. After filming the sales and a few interviews we set off to the hotel to find it was a lucky luxury and I could soak my aching muscles in the hot tub for the next day! Bright and early we set off from Naas and headed to the stables to film Tom Dascombe’s very well behaved yearlings and I spent the afternoon editing the footage for his website. Ireland was a lovely place and I would love to go back and take a look around, the people were very friendly, the food was great and I made sure I left with a traditional Guinness! Check out some picture of the visit and the yearlings videos below. I’ve spent the last few weeks preparing and working at the PSP Southampton Boat Show with Go Media. The whole experience has been very exciting as we have been able to do things in a very different new way this year and have even bigger plans for the London Boat Show in January. Usually at the Boat Show we film items for the BMF for the website and packages for clients for the rest of the week. The aim is to sell tickets to the Boat Show so we go around the stalls making interesting pieces for people to come and see. However a great change this year, making a studio set up possible, is the Black Magic Television Studio. It completely changed the dynamic making the production run smoother and quicker. With our very own Boat Show TV studio area we could set up interviews and stream directly on to the computer and add in a few cut aways later meaning the edit time was significantly less allowing us to turn around double the amount of items. Next year we plan to live stream to the Internet and be live around the show. So not only will we have the studio set up but also a live feed from around the show. Black Magic’s TVS technology made this possible and it will be exciting to use it in the future! I really enjoyed the show especially ladies day where I filmed an interview with Olympian Lizzie Neave and Sunseekers opening with Eddie Jordan and Jensen Button. I also loved operating the C300, the images it produces are beautiful… tempted to get myself a C100 now!
I was very excited to be going to The Dark Knight Rises Premiere in Leicester Square today to do some photography and screen technician work for Fonix. We set up the screens and waited for the stars to arrive. The entire event was fantastic. The set was brilliant with the giant bat mask in the center for the interviews. A giant bat sign on fire hanging over the red carpet. Flames all around and the famous bat mobile drove down the red carpet setting off its canon. The stars gave fantastic interview’s, as did director Christopher Nohlan and I got some lovely shots of them. Not only was it a great experience seeing all the cast and crew for the anticipated end to the batman films I also learnt a lot about the LED screens and the rig and de rig which was very interesting. I am very happy to have gone along and look forward to attending another amazing film premiere.
Photos to follow! I am travelling to London Excel with Go Media’s Steve Adams to interview MD Murray from the BMF. This is to put together a video in anticipation of the upcoming Tullet Predon London Boat Show 2013. This year they have been working very hard to ensure that visitors and exhibitors get the most out of the boat show. However this was not the reason I found myself most excited to be assisting today. This is the first time I get to have a look at the new camera, the Canon C300. A beautiful camera, which after a little play appeared easy enough to operate, and a descent size. While looking over Steve’s footage from sailing I was amazed by the HD quality. Not only the new camera but a few more gadgets such as the slider and steady cam jacket, I cannot wait to have a go. Though the weather was terrible for the journey a successful day was had and I look forward to the next interview with Murray in the near future.
