Today I travelled to London to the Barbican to go to the RTS Master class. This involved interviews with Stephen Moffat, Sue Borne and Siobhan Green. Firstly I was incredibly excited to be hearing from Stephen Moffat after admiring his work since my favourite Doctor Who episode ‘Blink’ was released. I was not disappointed and enjoyed his talk on Drama and writing and how he became successful. I was also incredibly impressed by both Sue and Siobhan. Being female as well I found both their stories of success very inspiring having gone from nearly nothing to the big names in Documentary and Entertainment that they are now. The day itself was pleasant with lunch and coffee breaks in which I met some like minded girls also just leaving university and getting jobs. All in all the day of very inspirational and made me eager to pursue my career.

I am absolutely shattered. Today has been an extremely exciting and interesting day. Firstly being a fan of Harry Potter, having read the books and seen the films, this experience is fantastic in itself. However I have the added bonus of studying Television Production and from that point of view the Harry Potter Studio Tour has been an unforgettable day for me. The unbelievable amounts of work that go into the films is hard to comprehend and seeing the clips of the green screen, animation and shooting was inspiring. As a fan I enjoyed a butter beer and a sit in the flying car but as a filmmaker I appreciated every aspect of production from the detailed design before hand, the set and props themselves to the complex editing. The studio tour did nothing but feed my excitement of joining the industry as soon as possible.
