I have just arrived back from an amazing week in Mexico. From the beauty and wonder of the Mayan Temples in Chichen Itza to the incredible Turtle Bay and the Cenotes that gave some welcome relief from the heat. I learnt a lot and was fascinated by the Ancient Mayans and their advancement in knowledge and architecture. I was also very excited to try out my GoPro dive housing in such beautiful clear water surrounded by tropical fish, the highlight being the turtles and were lucky enough to see two kinds. I will be posting up an edit of this shortly and hopefully some cenote footage if it is not too dark! For now here is a picture of one of the turtles.

After a few very cold days out this Winter I've put together a small selection of angles I've been tiring out with my GoPro attached to my bike. I love riding and had a great time seeing what each angle came out like. I still have a few more ideas I can't wait to try out and next time I look forward to finding a an amazing location (rather than my local woods!) for some high speed mountain biking! This week I have been filming and editing the National Student Survey video for Bournemouth University with Red Balloon and Toby Honer form Corporate Communications. NeSSa the camel strikes again by having a graffiti mural painted on Talbot and Lansdown campuses. I have been filming with the help of Joe Jackson and Jamie Whitton the time lapse and close ups of the very talented graffiti artist Oli from Graffiti Kings who is bringing NeSSa to life. The National Student Survey is for final years to complete to let future students know what the course is like and whether the students on it were satisfied. It is a very important survey and hopefully this video will encourage students to fill it out! Check it out on the link below and the production stills. I was very excited to receive my latest GoPro ‘toys’. Which included the dive housing, floaty back door, antifog inserts, a spare battery and the seatpost/handlebar mount for my bike! I’m really excited to use the dive housing for diving and wakeboarding and the handlebar mount for a variety of different angles when mountain biking. I took the GoPro along wakeboarding, till I realised how windy it was and that I would potentially never see it again if I used it! So I’m very much looking forward to the next spot of sunshine so I can get on my bike and test out my mount. Keep an eye out for the videos!
Today was my first PADI Open Water dive course with Dive South. The session started in the morning with theory and quizzes and the afternoon was the pool session. My pool session was with Lisa and went really well. I was very excited for my first session and was so happy when I achieved the first dives. Having read the theory it is incredible how much is involved in diving from the equipment to the safety. I can’t wait to finish the course and see the underwater world in open water. I’m another step closer to underwater filming!
