I was very excited to be going to The Dark Knight Rises Premiere in Leicester Square today to do some photography and screen technician work for Fonix. We set up the screens and waited for the stars to arrive. The entire event was fantastic. The set was brilliant with the giant bat mask in the center for the interviews. A giant bat sign on fire hanging over the red carpet. Flames all around and the famous bat mobile drove down the red carpet setting off its canon. The stars gave fantastic interview’s, as did director Christopher Nohlan and I got some lovely shots of them. Not only was it a great experience seeing all the cast and crew for the anticipated end to the batman films I also learnt a lot about the LED screens and the rig and de rig which was very interesting. I am very happy to have gone along and look forward to attending another amazing film premiere.

Today I worked with Fonix at the Olympic Torch Relay down on Bournemouth beach. Having had terrible weather recently I prepared for the worst and dressed in lots of layers and waterproofs only to find the clouds cleared away quickly and we had some nice weather. We started off at the offices to pick up the kit to set up the LED screen facing over Bournemouth beach. Our traffic was placed in between the BBC OB and The One Show Bus with their amazing jib facing over the stage. We set up the traffic with the new Black Magic television studio and the screen ready for the festivities to begin over the beach. There were a number of other screens about in the Bournemouth gardens, the bandstand and in Branksome so everyone could watch the event. Usually Fonix do the filming themselves however on this occasion we had the BBC feed their footage into the screens of the Torch doing its relay. It was a very exciting event to be at especially in such a nice location as Bournemouth Beach in the sun.
